| “Mystery Street” is a 40 minute performance that follows two musicians recounting their time living in the same house. A house that no longer stands. Memories, songs and stories blink on and off like the lights. They employ a decisively D.I.Y. and amateurish methodology in their storytelling. Poetic and meandering observations take on a kind of post-urban pastoral pace as they grapple with neighbors, loneliness, community, stability and privacy. All around them a crumbling infrastructure asserts itself at different scales indefinitely; from the very small and quiet to the infinite. |
