Prague Improvisation Orchestra
Prague Improvisation Orchestra (PIO) returns to Alfred ve dvoře Theatre with a double program! On the first night they will work with homemade instruments, recycled materials and traditional instruments that are specially "prepared" from everyday materials. On the second evening they will then play their own interpretations of several graphic scores including a special tribute to the great Phill Niblock. Special guests on both nights will be Mexican composer, Paetzold flute player and recycler of old cassette tapes Angélica Castelló, and experimental filmmaker Jan Kulka, who will improvise directly with the group.
PIO was founded in 2012 by Petr Vrba and George Cremaschi as a platform for large group improvisation, working with conducted and free improvisation, open scores and graphic notation. Since then, they have staged more than sixty performances, each of which is different and usually site-specific. Each particular event may feature anywhere from seven to twenty performers, often including visual and movement elements, and they have invited dozens of established international guests over the course of their existence.

PIO DYNAMO is supported by Ministry of Culture, Czech Republic and The City of Prague.
