Mark,
You said that

Means... you can get both channels 'if' you'd use with the USB audio
interface? but not via built-in mini output on your TiBook G4?
If so, there may be a problem with your audio-jack? I replaced twice
my built-in jack while my TiBook was still under Applecare. It's a
known fragile (easy-to-get-fu*ked-out) part, unfortunately.
However, if everything else (playing audio file from Finder, playing
through other audio software) works with the mini-jack, well, yeah.
You may have a strange problem. (Esp. if you didn't have such a
problem until you installed the GRM plug-in...) Btw. what's your
assignment on vbap?! - just wondering....

When the mini stereo output is used for headphones or mini speakers - I get a functioning left channel, but a right channel that firstly no longer plays out the audio - it also has computer noise as though I had a mic connected to the inner workings of the HD. Every mouse movement causes a signal.Even just in Finder mode.
