this check doesn't seem to work because it opens a white screen
anyway. but if I close this and select screen from host's title-menu,
I do get the black background.

you're right. it doesn't work at all. if i click into the window
max/msp freezes ("keine rückmeldung") and i have to kill and reload
max/msp.
